It is with sadness that I read a blog posting like this. I have made several posts in this blog about the rampant criminal behavior on the Internet and how untouchable the majority of these criminals are. In this one case it does seem that some of the specific individuals involved in this may be easier to identify, and I hope that this can be one case that proves me wrong. It can actually be good to be wrong.
But somehow I think this will end up like most other criminal cases on the Internet: Nothing will happen. The criminals will get away again.
This creates an environment where the good guys start fearing for their lives and their families lives.
Distributed Denial of Service attacks against security vendors and individual researchers has also become relatively common.
Without security there can not be growth. With security I do not imply security software, but traditional security as you would expect in the neighborhood you live in.
The Internet has become a society of its own, with its own dynamics and obviously its own crime. We would need to think of some relatively unique solutions to its problems, as this society crosses all boundaries and breaks all traditional rules.
